Luca Spanio started to play at 15 being his first instrument an acoustic guitar, a gift from his father.
He switched to electric guitar under the guidance of teachers Marco Bolognini and Marino DeAngeli, both graduated
from Musicians Institute in Hollywood California leading him to learn rock while learning jazz with Luciano DeMarchi
(graduated from Berkley in Boston). His great love for Queen takes him to get vocal lessons with Marian Trapassi,
Elisa Turla and Loretta Martinez using Voicecraft E.V.T.S, a method created from the American singer Jo Estill. After
getting a certificate of Theory and Ear Training at the Conservatory Of Music “G. Tartini” in Trieste, he left Italy
to study electric guitar at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. Studying with great musicians as Dan Gilbert, Alex
Macacheck, Ross Bolton, Bill Lafleur , in one year he does the one and a half year program studying also singing with
the teacher Coreen Sheehan. At the Musicians Institute he plays with Paul Gilbert, the guitar player of Mr. Big, “The
best jam I ever had at M.I.!” Luca says.
In February 2008 he played for “Emergenza Festival” one of the biggest American festival for new bands, having the
sixth place. He released his first EP in July of the same year (with cover of Queen songs as well as original
compositions) and in October he was all around the Bay Area for a 10 days tour to promote it.
Now Luca is organizing a new short tour all around Southern California, form Los Angeles to Orange to
promote the new EP he's recording with his band comprised of Scott Mezei -bass player- and Alfredo "Fredo" Jasso
-drummer-. The tour will start in July and it will end in October, playing just once a week in different clubs
and cafes..
